Thanksgiving

The turkey's laid out,
A smell is in the air,
one, that every year,
Becomes more and more familiar.

The family is gathered,
Round the table,
So full!
And soon we'll be laughing
And enjoying the feast.

Before that can happen,
Something takes place.
Something much more important
Than the food on your plate.

Around that glad table
You'll glance and you'll sigh.
Thanking the Lord
Up above you're alive.

And maybe a smile you'll share with the rest
Because you know
One day
There will be nothing left.

And so you'll continue
The blessing with care
And make sure others know
The reasons they are there.

They'll smile,
And then
Begin digging right in.
And you'll have one more thing
To be Thankful, again.
:)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Fairy Tale Novels for Teens by Regina Doman

Fairy Tale Novels for Teens by Regina Doman: Why Fairy Tales Are Still Interesting...
To the insane man his insanity is quite prosaic, because it is quite true. A man who thinks himself a chicken is to himself as ordinary as a chicken. A man who thinks he is a bit of glass is to himself as dull as a bit of glass.

Please finish reading this wonderul excerpt of GK Chesterton at the blog's address. And check out her wonderful books, they are amazing!

Tomorrow is another Day

Tomorrow is another day..............................................................................

Many thoughts come to mind in my quiet rambling. One of these is tomorrow is another day. I often worry over the smallest things turning them into the scenario that the world is going to end. I like to over exaggerate and it can become a very bad habit.

I have to remember that no matter what choice I make there is always tomorrow and I have time to think over it, relax, and breathe. Oh breathing, what a wonderful, enjoyable task. And yet so hard to remember to do sometimes. I have finally been organizing my stuff and most everything is right where it should be. Most everything.............. there is the occasional book thrown on my bed or bedside table because I'm still reading it but that's the worst clutter, books.

My life revolves around books. I read them continually, never seeming to put them down. In a way you could say I'm obssesed with books. There are worst things to be obsesed with.

Books are like a quiet companion. They don't say anything out loud, but slowly, gently they leak out all of their secrets. They take you away and sweep you up in the torrent of plotlines, emotions, and characters. They whisk you places you would never have dreamed. And they don't care who you are when you pick them up. They are not biased, they are simply there for your pleasure. I love books.

Rain

A little late for Easter but I felt I should post it.

Weeks of waiting,
Droughts offering no release from the coutinuing drying of the habitat in which we live. We have sat throught the desert, in a literal sense, with Jesus. Waiting for the relief that a long spring brings. The wistful drop in the temperature and the way the water feels, as you aren't submerged in it and the water isn't forced out of a pipe in the wall.

It slowly trickles down your arm, following the long path till it slowly drips down your fingertips hitting the concrete and splattering. It's as if the gentle flow is beckoning you to stay and feel the cooling sensation of water on your skin.

Just a quiet thought written on easter and delayed in being posted. :)

Track and Field

Sooo I have been in a poetry mood.......... And it's kind of addicting. Here's another poem.

Track and Field

She's positioned.
She can smell the hot rubber of the track.
Seconds pass, her heart is beating faster then she can take.
The pow! of the gun.
She runs.

Nite

Soooo sorry I haven't been posting very much. Without further ado, a poem I've been working on.

Nite

The great-horned owl looks.
The moon in its full radiance,
Shines.
The owl,
A soft sound,
And silence.

Tangled

I finally had the privilege of seeing Tangled and it was a breath of fresh air for the Disney movies. The Princess and the Frog was a princess movie but it didn't feel like one. It was way to dark and sinister for a four year old to go and see in theatres.

Tangled, however, was a princess movie. It fit the unspoken requirements of a princess movie.
It had a villain that was a villain but wasn't over doing it.
The princess was sweet, kind and caring. She was a role model for the little girls watching.
The prince was awesome. He was a character that appealed to little boys. They could easily watch the film, and enjoy it.
It also had the signature Disney song.

Tangled is one of my new favorite movies and will sit on my movie shelf, in a place of honor, alongside Little Mermaid, Mulan and Pocahontas.

Doctor Who | Series 2 | The Christmas Invasion | Part 1

This is a wonderful, highly addictive show called Dr.Who. This is the first episode with David Tennant. If you have never heard of or seen Dr. Who before I fell very sorry for you. It is a show on the BBC that is sci-fi. It is also, generally, very amusing. I hope you enjoy it. :)

P.S.
BBC takes all credit for the scene and you should definately look on youtube for a better explanation of Dr.Who.
