The turkey's laid out,
A smell is in the air,
one, that every year,
Becomes more and more familiar.
The family is gathered,
Round the table,
So full!
And soon we'll be laughing
And enjoying the feast.
Before that can happen,
Something takes place.
Something much more important
Than the food on your plate.
Around that glad table
You'll glance and you'll sigh.
Thanking the Lord
Up above you're alive.
And maybe a smile you'll share with the rest
Because you know
One day
There will be nothing left.
And so you'll continue
The blessing with care
And make sure others know
The reasons they are there.
They'll smile,
And then
Begin digging right in.
And you'll have one more thing
To be Thankful, again.
:)
Happy Thanksgiving!
ciao 4 now,

If you are a dreamer, come in, If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer... If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire For we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in! -Shel Silverstein
